One thing I wanted to do is make sure that the huge journey in a 1980s icon was not going to cause a huge impact to the environment. We all need to watch our carbon footprint, we only get one planet Earth after all.
The cost on the environment of making new cars is huge, and maintaining and running a classic is better for the environment overall, given the low number of miles it does per year.
To offset the emissions from the journey around the Baltic Sea I’ve joined Ecologi, who will plant 30 trees every month for the next year. They provide for reforestation schemes in Mozambique and Madagascar, as well as supporting schemes in the UK too. Using this scheme we’ll be able to offset over 5,000 miles of emissions each month. By the time we complete the rally, over 150,000 miles of carbon emissions will have been offset.

If you too sign up we both get extra trees planted!
