How far is 6000 miles exactly?

When I think about how far we’ll need to travel during the rally I often wonder how far it is, and when I speak about it to others it’d be great to have some comparison.

So I’ve taken a look on Google Maps and come up with some distances!

If you’re reading this in the UK you may be familiar with the journey from Land’s End to John O’Groats (LEJOG) or may know someone who has done the journey. The distance is about 840 miles (1350 km), so travelling that 7 times will equate to once around the Baltic Sea!

Alternatively, the journey from New York City to Los Angeles in the USA is just under 3000 miles, so if you did that and then drive home again that would be the same sort if distance that we’ll do! Wow!

Those sorts of comparisons make me realise how big of an adventure this is, and how the Porsche is going to need to be in peak condition to survive those long distances every day. Lots to look forward to, and all for a great cause.

Fundraising is going very well, with £2,100 now raised. Thank you to all our amazing donors so far!
