I posted previously about how 12 months ago I joined ecologi, a subscription based startup company that works with environmental projects all over the world. Their aim is to enable individuals to contribute towards positive climate action.
So far, I have offset over 28 tonnes of CO2. The small amount of money I pay each month goes to support renewable electricity projects in Vietnam, Thailand and Turkey. It helps reforestation projects in Madagascar, Mozambique and Peru. It helps provide cleaner cookstoves to families in Ghana and Zambia, that are less polluting.
I wanted to contribute to projects like this as I know that my fundraising project will not be so environmentally friendly; driving an old car is polluting, there’s no denying that. As a family we’ve also opted to make our main car fully electric too.
Here’s a breakdown of what 28 tonnes of CO2 looks like.

Our journey around the Baltic Sea is 6000 miles. By helping to plant over 400 trees over the last year through ecologi we’ll be doing a little bit to help offset that.
If you’re interesting in joining ecologi too, use this link and we’ll both plant extra trees!
