Today we start our challenging adventure, driving 6000 miles around the Baltic Sea, raising money for Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. It’s been a long time in the planning and I guess any trip like this wouldn’t be complete with a last minute hurdle to overcome!
We’ve had to delay our departure by 48h from the UK, meaning that we’ll miss the official start point of the rally on Sunday morning (in fact teams are rolling over the start line as I type this). Fear not though, we will be aiming to follow our rally companions and aim to catch up with them over the course of the first few days. We still aim to return to the UK on our planned ferry crossing, so we’ve effectively cut down the length of our rally by 2 days. This could make it even more challenging, but we’ll be taking it as it comes and if we need to alter our planned route then we will.
The feelings right now are of excitement, nervousness and gratitude. I can’t quite believe that the day is finally here and tonight we’ll be crossing the sea to the Netherlands. I feel thankful to all those that have supported me through the last two years, and those that have donated to the fundraiser. The next 18 days are going to be filled with challenges, fun and seat-of-our-pants adventure; I can’t wait to get started.
Of course this wouldn’t be possible without our team sponsors: Toyo Tires UK, Expedition Foods, Midway Garage Witchford, 944spares.com.
From here on in we’ll do a blog update here at least once a day to keep you all updated!
Wish us luck.

We are thinking of you here at the Hospice, Stephen and very much looking forward to your updates. (Alison, Community Fundraiser)
